Parc Astérix is just a 20 minute drive north of Paris so you can easily combine a visit here with a Paris tour or a trip to the Parc du Futuroscope® near Poitiers.
Parc Astérix
Parc Astérix features 10 big thrill attractions including the world famous Tonnerre de Zeus (Thunder of Zeus) rollercoaster. This huge wooden ride is ranked as one of the best in the world and reaches speeds of 50mph. The TransDémonium, a haunted medieval castle, is great fun. You descend to the dungeons of the Cité Médiévale, where evil spirits and witches torture and terrorise humans...
If you like white knuckle rides you won’t be disappointed. You can plummet at breakneck speed back to prehistoric times on the Trace du Hourra, a thrilling bobsleigh style ride unique in Europe. Or try the Goudurix corkscrew rollercoaster which spins you head-over-heels 7 times! For those who prefer a more gentle pace there is the village of the Gauls with a peaceful river ride or you can take charge of an old car on the Nationale 7 as it bumps through the countryside. Once a day there is a show with jugglers and trapeze acrobats in Les Stars de L’Empire and don’t miss the Poseidon Theatre with real dolphins and sea lions.

Schools within 100 miles of Dover can visit Parc Astérix on a 2 day tour.

3 Day Tour – Parc Astérix and Paris tour with Seine river cruise from £135
- Day 1
- Travel via Calais to your hotel near Paris. An evening stop will be taken en route for dinner*.
- Day 2
- Full day at Parc Astérix. Dinner* and evening shopping at a hypermarket.
- Day 3
- Take a short tour of the amazing sights of Paris ending with a river cruise on the Seine before heading for Calais and home.
4 Day Tour – Parc Astérix and a full day in Paris from £174
- Day 1
- Travel via Calais to your hotel near Paris. An evening stop will be taken en route for dinner*.
- Day 2
- Full day in Paris starting with a tour of all the major sights. See the Eiffel Tower and enjoy a river cruise on the Seine. Afternoon can be spent in central Paris or in the Montmartre area to see the Sacré Coeur and the artists’ square. In the evening after your meal* you could see Paris by night or stroll along the Champs Elysées.
- Day 3
- Full day at Parc Astérix. Dinner* and evening shopping at a hypermarket.
- Day 4
- Visit a hypermarket (Cité Europe) or a chocolate factory* or the Nausicaã Aquarium in Boulogne* or Vimy Ridge WW1 memorial and home.
Accommodation
Students share twin bedded rooms on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
In 2008 Parc Asterix opens every day from 5 April to 31 August and weekends in September, October, November and December.
