Germany & The Rhine Valley
This tour is a perfect introduction to Germany. Cologne Cathedral is inspiring and the funicular ride to Konigswinter provides breathtaking views across the Rhine. The drive along the Rhine valley takes you past some of the most beautiful scenery in Germany (one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites) and there are many stunning castles and striking cliffs as you pass through the Rhine Gorge. We can offer an optional river cruise on a paddle steamer along part of the Rhine which passes the famous Loreley statue. The Deutches Eck is a popular visit – a stunning promontory at Koblenz where the River Moselle meets the River Rhine.
Phantasialand® Theme Park
Phantasialand® is Germany’s leading theme park, so get ready for an unforgettable day. Visit the Mystery Castle, where you are fired into the air inside an ancient tower – the only attraction of its kind anywhere in Europe. In the Galaxy Simulator you will experience travel into outer space while the River Quest is a classic wet n’wild ride. Visit Wuze Town an incredible experience for everyone into a civilisation hidden for centuries. Ride the runaway ghost train on the Colorado Adventure up to dizzying heights and down deep gorges. If you are scared of heights you’ll want to avoid the Condor ride which rises high into the air as it turns.
5 Day Tour – Cologne, Rhine Valley and Phantasialand® from £260
- Day 1
- Travel via Calais to your three star hotel near the Rhine.
- Day 2
- Spend a morning in Cologne (visit the Cathedral and chocolate factory*) and an afternoon in Königswinter (take the funicular railway* to enjoy the stunning views over the Rhine).
- Day 3
- Morning drive through the Rhine Gorge with the option to take a river cruise* past the famous Loreley statue. Afternoon in Koblenz. See the Moselle at the Deutsches Eck and do some shopping.
- Day 4
- Full day in Germany’s exciting theme park Phantasialand® (included).
- Day 5
- Return to Calais and home.
Accommodation
Students share twin rooms on a Half Board basis on day 2,3 and 4.
