Port Aventura Theme Park

Port Aventura is an exciting theme park resort near Salou, south of Barcelona. The Park consists of several themed lands based on countries from around the world! The exotic lands of China, Polynesia, the Far West, Mexico and, of course, the Mediterranean, are brought to life before your very eyes as you try the impressive rides, take in one of the many shows and meet some very familiar characters... rides of pure adrenalin such as the Hurakan Condor that drops you from a great height or the huge Dragon Khan rollercoaster with its 8 inverted loops. There are more gentle rides too such as the Tami Tami, Tutuki Splash or Kon Tiki Wave. Sagrada Familia Cathedral

The Sagrada Familia was designed by Antoni Gaudí who worked on the project from 1883 and devoted the last fifteen years of his life entirely to the endeavour. After Gaudí's death in 1926, work continued until interrupted by the Spanish Civil War in 1936. The Cathedral is still unfinished but is a beautiful sight.

Camp Nou Stadium

The Camp Nou is the home of Barcelona FC. It has a capacity of 98,787, making it the largest stadium in Europe, and the eleventh largest in the world. Its official name was Estadi del FC Barcelona until 2000, when the club membership voted to change the official name to the popular nickname, Camp Nou.

Poble Espanyol

The Spanish Town is an outdoor open-air architectural museum located on the mountain of Montjuïc overlooking the city of Barcelona. It was constructed in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition that was held in Barcelona that year. The town is a museum of architecture, style and culture from various locations from all around Spain.

La Rambla

La Rambla is a street in central Barcelona, popular with both tourists and locals alike. A mile-long tree-lined pedestrian mall between Barri Gòtic and El Raval, it connects Plaça Catalunya in the center with the Christopher Columbus monument at Port Vell. La Rambla can be crowded, especially during prime time tourist season.

Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar is a pretty seaside resort north of Barcelona. Sometime in the 12th century the mediaeval town was walled off and a castle was built on the highest point of Mt. Guardí. There are 3 excellent beaches and small boats give tours of the local underground caves.

Girona

Girona is a city to the northeast of Barcelona. The city has a beautiful medieval quarter which is largely pedestrianised. The Jewish ghetto or Call is one of the best preserved in Europe and is a major tourist attraction. On the north side of the old city is the Montjuïc (or hill of the Jews in medieval Catalan), where an important religious cemetery was located.

Dali Museum

Salvador Dalí's home town was Figueres to the north of Barcelona. In addition to Dalí paintings from all decades of his career, there are Dalí sculptures, 3-dimensional collages, mechanical devices, a living-room with custom furniture that looks like the face of Mae West when viewed from a certain spot, and other curiosities from Dalí's imagination.
