CURRICULUM FOCUS - History, Art, Geography, Science, Business Studies - KS 3 & 4

Amsterdam has a compact medieval city centre which makes it easy to explore on foot. There are many world famous art galleries and museums to explore and a visit to Anne Frank's house is highly recommended. For Business Studies tours we can arrange a visit to a Diamond factory, Cheese producer and the Heineken brewery. For science students the NEMO centre makes an excellent visit.

Anne Frank's House

The Anne Frank House consists of the  warehouse and offices where Anne and her family hid from the Nazis. Some personal relics of the family remain, such as movie star photographs glued by Anne to a wall, a section of wallpaper on which Otto Frank marked the height of his growing daughters, and a map on the wall where he recorded the advance of the Allied Forces.

NEMO Science Centre

NEMO is not a museum in the traditional sense. It doesn't have a collection of things from a specific era, but rather it has good interactive exhibitions on how things work. The building is a green structure that resembles the prow of a ship. Students will have fun while learning about how things work.
